“This painting was triggered by the Art Deco houses in Riverton - near where Sue and I lived at Cosy Nook. Also referring to the result of the extensive rebuilding in Napier during the 1930’s (after the 1931 earthquake). Early memories of briefly living in a Deco house in Wanganui are also a factor here.”
