“This anti nuclear work was done when VAANA (Visual Artists Against Nuclear Arms) was happening - formed in mid 1984 to raise public awareness to support peace groups.
The work was part of a large body of work that was exhibited in Auckland and Dunedin that year. The art was a symbol developed in the ARAMA works (Art, Religion and Media Assocation) of the 1970’s.
This austere work has McCahon influences.”
