The title is a play on words, highlighting the native plants pushed aside by farming, especially the dairy industry in New Zealand. This concept originated from my final year at art school, where I was reading the journals of Captain Cook and Joseph Banks from their circumnavigation of New Zealand - both of whom said, in their own words, "cut down the trees and drain the swamps, it'll make for great pasture.
