A sculpture made in 1981 revisited in 2025, where my current work is contrasted to that of my former self. Seen on the opera house stage in Sydney, Dame Joan in the earlier work is made in the earlier work is made in facets to show the light and shadows across the surface. But I add a watcher in the dark, seen now made with shallow modelling across the form. 

As I approach my eightieth year, a book in production of my sculpture has prompted me to look again at how my approach has changed over the years, but the subject matter of the figure has continued right through.
