Rob Tucker b. 1987

Rob Tucker  presented his first solo exhibition with ARTIS  in June 2024.

 

Residing in Auckland, Tucker has established himself as a unique presence in the art world with his interpretations of figurative still lifes and landscapes. His artistic expression, marked by geometric shapes, streamlined forms and a vibrant colour scheme, nods to the aesthetics of mid-century modern design, while evoking the spirit of David Hockney's era of pop-art and abstraction. 

 

Tucker’s still life paintings draw inspiration from creating sparse clusters showing his fascination between space and shape.  His colour palate, whilst joyful and exuberant, is applied in such a manner to create contrast and effect with bold painted lines being paired with soft pastels.

 

Oversized, textural and graphically engaging, Tucker’s passion radiates through both his brush strokes and his infectious playful energy. His artistic journey has taken him across the globe, exhibiting in prominent art hubs like London, New York, Los Angeles and Paris.
