Three artists
from Artis Gallery’s stable have been selected for the 2010 Shapeshifter
sculpure festival in Lower Hutt.
One of the
country’s premier outdoor sculpture exhibitions, Shapeshifter is the major visual arts event of the New
Zealand International Arts Festival and features work from over 60 artists,
including Matthew Browne, John Edgar and Don Driver. The works are spread
between TheNewDowse and the adjacent Civic Gardens, which provide a striking
natural complement to the exhibition. All arworks included in Shapeshifter are for sale, and proceeds will go to local charities Te Omanga Hospice, The Dowse Foundation and Hutt Valley youth programmes.
In June 2010
Artis Gallery will by displaying Matthew Browne’s sculpture, painting and
drawing in his solo exhibiton, See Visions and Dream Dreams.
